Sunday Morning Adult Faith Class

Sundays, 9:15 in Swartz Parlor

Bible Study: II Corinthians

The class will begin a new topic this week, the study of a book of the New Testament, 2 Corinthians. This is a letter written by Paul to the Church in Corinth, located on the Greek peninsula, about 55 A.D. It contains some of Paul’s own story of travels in Asia and other places as he tries to spread Christ’s message, allowing us a glimpse of the founding of our faith. In addition, Paul writes about the joys, suffering and rewards of being a Christian. Among other topics, he writes about the grace of giving to the poor, seeing the glory of God with unveiled faces, the ministry of reconciliation, and the prospect of death and what it means for the Christian. The letter contains many other meaningful passages. The class will cover the whole book, chapter by chapter. We encourage you to come, and if you have the time or feel so inclined, to read the chapters before class, and to do a little research or study on your own, either in the library or on the Internet. Many useful commentaries can be found on the Interned by entering the name of the book and the chapter and verse into your search engine. If you have questions or need further guidance, please contact the church office at fccoffice@gmail.com
